Low-intensity blast in Bangalore.

Posted on at

A woman was killed and three other men were injured in a low-intensity blast that occurred just after 8:30 pm last night in the heart of Bangalore. The exact spot was outside the popular Coconut Grove restaurant on Church Street off MG Road which was then packed with Sunday evening crowds. No terrorist outfit has so far claimed any responsibility for the blast. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been handed over the probe and the state police would help them in the probe.  It is reported that the improvised explosive device (IED) that was filled with ammonium nitrate and fitted with a timer device had been placed in a drain on the roadside, which caused the blast. No one has been arrested so far. The situation is presently under control.
