"I´m just 2 months in Film Annex but since Eren picked me [for Eren's Picks] and put me on the front page… The revenues increased so much! I´m so happy, really, this is a great motivation to keep on posting, promoting and working."Miguel Ángel Font Bisier

Below is an interview with Miguel about how he promotes his work on social media. He also gives some tips to aspiring filmmakers.

Film Annex: When did you start promoting your work specifically on social media platforms?
Miguel Ángel Font Bisier
:
Since the beginning. I´ve always believed in the power of social media and Internet platforms, so when I decided to start my career as a filmmaker, I chose Internet to host my work, even before going to festivals or doing public presentations. This choice gave me very good results, some of my videos have gone viral, I got selected for some international festivals, I met a lot of professionals that wanted to work with me… Social media is essential for this job.

FA: What social media platforms do you use? Which one(s) do you think are more efficient for filmmakers to use to promote their work and why?
MAFB: I mostly use Facebook, some forums, Youtube, Twitter and Vimeo (in that order of use). Right now, after discovering Film Annex, I´ve realized that is a very good tool to work, so I´m using it pretty much. I write a lot of blogs about my works, my most important videos are hosted here and so on. I always try to use the social media that are closest to the audience and are most crowded, also websites that can host HD videos and photography.

FA: Did you make interesting contacts or create business opportunities by sharing your work on social media?
MAFB: 100% positive! It´s incredible how many people I´ve met by sharing my projects, almost day by day!

FA: Give us an example on how you promote your Web TV or work in general on social media?
MAFB: I used to prepare a big amount of pictures, sketches and making of videos in order to, little by little, show them to the media, so my project can be months and months alive. I also answer interviews, prepare trailers, teasers and write articles in order to get as close to the audience as I can.

FA: Did you see a change on your revenues on Film Annex after promoting your Web TV on social media?
MAFB: Sure! I´m just 2 months in Film Annex but since Eren picked me [for Eren's Picks] and put me on the front page… The revenues increased so much! I´m so happy, really, this is a great motivation to keep on posting, promoting and working.

FA: Do you have any tips for other filmmakers on how to promote your films on social media?
MAFB: Create very visual contents, try not to be very selfish and use the opportunity of writing articles and posts to honor your crew (without them, we are nobody) and try to think always on what can be interesting for the audience, not just for yourself.
