Modern history — Part-3

Posted on at

The important developments of the early modern period, viz. the English Civil War and the French Revolution thoroughly influenced the life and thinking pattern of the people during the early modern period. The eras featuring different shades of early modernism are: the Age of Reason, the Enlightenment, the Romantic and the Victorian eras, etc.

The visualization of the modern world apart from its primitive image relies on the realization that the modern era is not merely an other phase in the time-line, instead it's an outcome of a novel evolution. Normally, it's considered a kindda development achieved through conscientious endeavors put forth by the exponents of the age to uplift their life conditions.

Progress made in all walks of life, politics, society, culture, warfare, medicine, education, communication, science and technology seems to have gradually altered the Old World into the Modern (New) World. At any point in the history, the detection of a drastic shift can be held as the continuum between the old and the new epoch.

Parts of the New World transformed its connection with the biblical values, rooted in adhering to ancient monarchical norms and casting of economic values based on stratified social system, into new inter-state system of governance based on democracy, liberalism and nationalism that influenced modern-day study of psychology, anthropology, economics and politics. (... to be contd.)
