Mountains of Africa

The most important mountains on the western side of the Africa are the Atlas range in Morocco. These and other mountains on the western side are not very high. The altitude keeps rising as we move towards the east, and not surprisingly, we found Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain of the continent, near the east coast in Tanzania. These mountains, sometimes called the eastern highlands, stretch right through the Middle East in Asia and up to Turkey, although they are disjointed at points. In the extreme northeast of Africa is the famous Mount Sinai in Egypt, where according to common belief, Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) witnessed the Glory of God.
