National Parfait Day.

Posted on at

Today, November 25th, is National Parfait Day.

Although there are savoury parfait (types of pâté), this day relates to the sweet ones.

The word parfait, which is French for "perfect," can relate to the original French dessert or the North American variant.

Traditional parfait is a frozen dessert that uses egg, cream and sugar syrup as a base. The American one is formed from layers of parfait cream, ice cream and gelatine in a tall glass, and topping them with fruit and whipped cream - basically, a type of sundae.
