At present in India, no one rupee note is printed rather one rupee coins are minted.  Printing of one rupee note was discontinued about 20 years ago.  It is now learnt that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will soon put in circulation currency notes in one rupee denomination.  But the one rupee note will have signature of the Finance Secretary unlike other currency notes which bear signature of RBI Governor.
