Pakistan Taliban talks and its impact on Afghanistan

Posted on at

As we all know know that talks between Taliban and the Pakistan government has started recently and there has been no formal announcements yet on how the talk will push the peace process forward. These talk are very significant for the peace process in Afghanistan.

The blame game between Afghan and Pakistan governments started after the fall of taliban in Afghanistan where many accused Pakistan are behind the Taliban uprising in Afghanistan. The presence and killing of Osama bin Laden made the accusations like a reality that Pakistan is supporting the Al-qaeda and Taliban fighting in Afghanistan.Pakistan has always denied the accusations but the truth is not yet known that what,s going on between the two countries. When ever there is a major Taliban attack on sensitive targets in Afghanistan ,the next thing is either a suicide or bomb blast in the restive Balochistan or in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.Innocent people lose their lives in both the countries.

The Taliban in Pakistan often issue statements that Mullah Omar is their leader and they carry orders from their leader. The recently elected Pakistan Taliban chief Mullah Fazlullah was in a hiding in Afghanistan after the Swat operation. The recent held talk between president Karzai and prime minister Nawaz sharif in Turkey were based on the issue of talk with Taliban and the peace process in Afghanistan. The presidential election in Afghanistan is about a month away and the situation in Afghanistan remains volatile. There has been secret talks with Taliban by the Afghan Government but no breakthrough has been achieved yet.

If the peace talks with Taliban in Pakistan are successfull ,we might head to peace talk in Afghanistan also. The impact will be immense if the guns get silent on one side the other might think of the same but the demands are almost the same from both the sides to have ceasefire immediately in the areas of the Taliban, release of Prisoners from Jails and the implication of Shariah law.We both countries need each other for a better and peacefull environment .Afghans have suffered alot in the last three or more decades of continuous war and we cant bear the brunt of these war anymore.

I hope the peace process goes ahead as planned and willing it to be successfull to have a better influence of Afghan Taliban. We will wait for the next week or two and see how it fold up and wish the impact goes to Afghanistan for peace.
