Photography and the Reservation

Posted on at

I uploaded these pictures I took a while ago to my gallery, but I wanted to share a little more information here.

I took these last veterans day at St. Mary's Mission on the Colville reservation In Omak Washington (my hometown) It is the most beautiful and visited cemetery I know of.

Not because it is clean cut or polished, but the opposite. It is definitely well kept, but by people who care to show the deceased they were there, and they were thinking of them.

My mother is in this picture. she knew some people buried there, and she wished to pay respects.

I thought this was a particularly striking image. Almost as if someone was standing there half engulfed by their grave.

remember the past, and look to the future. but don't forget the beauty of today
