Politics Part1

In my upcoming blogs I will discuss politics and its origins. Politics actually deals with the form of government therefore the first question that arises in our minds and is discussed by experts of philosophy is that how state came into being? i.e how man bound themselves in a system and formulated a government ? and how states came into being ?

In this regard there are various theories which discuss the origin of a state. The most popular one among such thoeries is the theory fo social contract. Some of the readers might be familiar with this thoery but for those who are not here is a brief summary of this theory.

It says that in the beginning man used to live without any government or a state. When man first landed on Earth there was no government, there was no existence of state. All the people used to live individually and spent their lives without any affiliation of any kind with anyone. This is often called the natural state or the “state of nature”. This means that when man was born he was living without a state , without any rules and regualtions and without any state. Everyone was living a free life.

I personally differ from this theory because it is a little bit odd to say that man was first born without any code of conduct or rules and regulations by the God. However this matter involves faith and beliefs so we do not go into the details.

Moreover this theory states that while living individually it was quite obvious that their interests intersect and a situation of discomfort could arise between people. One would want to do a work for his benefit and the other won’t let him because of his interest and benefit. This is how arised the clashes among people. Therefore they decided to manufacture a system so that their mutual differences do not convert into larger clashes. Therefore they made an agreement that they should spend their lives according to some rules. In light of this agreement they chose a person among them to be the head of the state who would be the legislator and the judge.
