Hello guys!

Earth is our home and it’s our duty to make its clean. But if we look around, our environment is contaminated. Our climate is getting damage day by day because of our actions. This article is all about pollution. I am going to describe some ways of decreasing pollution in this post. It’s our responsibility to make our planet a better place. Thus, we should work for it. Let’s start with the definition of pollution.

Wikipedia defines pollution in this way:

"Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy, such as noise, heat or light. Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants. Pollution is often classed as point source or nonpoint source pollution."

Pollution occurs when pollutants contaminate the natural surroundings; which bring about changes that affect our normal lifestyle adversely. Pollutants are the key elements or components of pollution which are generally waste material from different forms. Pollution is the addition of impurities in our natural environment. These impurities drastically harm the living things.

Pollution disturbs the ecosystem and the balance in the environment. With the development of technology and modernization, the pollution has reached its peak. The increase in Pollution is causing a rise in the illness of humans and global warming. Many new and dangerous diseases are damaging the health of human beings.

There are many types of Pollution. Some of the basic types are:

Air pollution

Water pollution

Soil pollution

Noise pollution etc.

Pollution is all because of our lifestyles. Stopping pollution is important for the survival for our planet and also for the well being of human beings. Now, it’s our duty to make our environment pollution free. It’s our responsibility to make things better. But the question is “HOW CAN WE CUT POLLUTION?” The answer is really simple; we have to apply some easy rules in our lives in order to cut pollution. I am explaining some very easy rules or methods by which you can be a responsible human being. Let’s see how we can cut pollution.

Ways of Eliminating Pollution

Some very easy and simple ways are right here:

1-Make use of solar energy

We are using fossils for different tasks. The burning of fossil fuels is polluting our climate every day but if an alternative of fossil fuel is used that cut pollution, it might be a better option. Solar energy is the energy produced from the sun and fuel is not burned. There is no emission of harmful gases in solar energy. Sunlight is free; we can use it to produce a lot of energy. This solar energy is ideal for resident, institutions and business. Solar power can save a ton of energy for you and, on top of that, it could also end up saving you a lot of cash in the long run as well. Hence, solar energy is used simultaneously for reducing pollution and saving money.

2-Use public transportation

One vehicle for every person can pollute the air badly. Personal vehicles are causing many problems. Using public transport instead of the private is the better option of eliminating pollution. Try to walk and use some bicycle instead of a car. If you have access to public transportation where you live, take advantage of it. Use your vehicle a lot less often. Especially students and office going people must use public transport for reaching their destinations.

3-Prefer hybrid vehicles

A Hybrid vehicle uses a combination of electricity and gas. These have an electric motor as well as an internal combustion engine, which cut gas combustion. This technology is getting common nowadays. Hybrid cars have much better fuel economy than regular cars and emit fewer gases than traditional cars. These cars are costly but prove to be beneficial for a lifetime.

4-Grow fruits and vegetables at home

Starting a garden in your own backyard is another great way to help pollution. Plants and trees convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and act as a carbon sink, which means less pollution. Planting trees can reduce 1% of the air pollution, and is being taken up in urban areas around the world. There are so many plants out there that will eat up the junk in the atmosphere. Research these plants and plant them in your surroundings.

5-Save energy as much as possible

Saving and using least energy will save money and climate. So, don’t keep the lights or other electronic devices on when not in use. The more you use energy, the more the environment is getting polluted. Unplug all the devices when not in use. Plugging electronics into a power strip is a good strategy because you can easily turn off the power strip and turn off all the electronics at the same time.

6-Choose items with minimal packaging

The packaging used to protect food requires new raw materials and energy to create. When it comes to buying items from outside, considers buying those with minimal packaging and are reusable. Even if they are packed, try to buy the one with least packaging. Use bags made to buy different things. This will reduce pollution due to plastic bags.

7-Reuse and recycle

"Recycling isthe process of converting waste materials into new materials and objects. It is an alternative to "conventional" waste disposal that can save material and help lower greenhouse gas emissions (compared to plastic production."

source: wikipedia

Lots of waste is generated by disposable cups, plates, utensils and storage containers of food. This plastic cause land pollution. We should use reusable products instead of these plastics. Recycle as much as you can so that it can be reused later or in other products. Buy items made up of recycling material will also help in reducing pollution. As a responsible citizen, try to reuse and recycle.

8-Conserve water

Water is one of the blessings we are owned with. It is important to take good care of water we do have and conserve it as much as possible. Wasting water will affect our environment badly. As water is a natural resource, we should preserve it. It is easy to take measures in daily life that help you use less water and preserve the health of your ecosystem. Some ways of preserving water are:

• Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth.

• Don’t turn on the tap when no use.

• Don’t wash dishes with the water constantly running.

• Use bathtubs instead of showers.

These are one of the easiest solutions of eliminating pollution. If each one of us follows these steps, or climate becomes clean. Try to follow them, save yourself and your climate from pollution.
