Now we will discuss Present Indefinite Tense in detail....

    Present Indefinite Tense

 Definition:-

In this type of present tense we can define daily life activities.

Structure:-

Subject+first form of verb(with "s" or "es")+object.

We use "s" or "es" with the verb when subject will be first person.

For example...              He, she,it or singular name.

With 2nd person we do not use "s" or "es".

For example....         You, they, we, I, or plural names.

 Examples...

Imperative Sentences...

  • Sara goes to school.

In this sentence....

Sara is subject.

Goes is Verb.

School is object.

Here we used "es" with verb (go) because Sara is a singular name.

If we change above sentence like this....

  • Sara and Ali go to school

Here we used "go" instead of "goes" because now subject became plural e.g Sara and Ali .

Negative sentences....

If we change these sentences to negative sentences we will do like this...

  • Sara does not go to school.

In negative sentence we use "does not"  after subject  when subject is first person or singular name. Here we do not use "es" with verb.

  • Sara and Ali do not go to school.

In this negative sentence we used "do not" after subject  because  subject is 2nd person or plural name.

Interrogative sentences...

Now we change above sentences in interrogative form.

  • Does Sara  go to school?
  • Do Sara and Ali  go to school?

In interrogative sentences we write "does" or "do" before subject with question mark(?) at the end of sentence.

Some more examples....

  • We eat apple daily.
  • We do not eat apple daily.
  • Do we eat apple daily?

  • They play cricket in the evening.
  • They do not  play cricket in the evening.
