Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“These toilets are visited (by jinn), so when any one of you goes to the toilet, let him say,
(بِسْمِ الله ) اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أَعـوذُ بِـكَ مِـنَ الْخُـبْثِ وَالْخَبائِث
(Bismil-lah) allahumma innee aAAoothu bika minal-khubthi wal-khaba-ith.
(In the name of Allah, O Allah, I seek refuge with You from evil and from the male and female devils).’
(Classed as Saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah, 241).
