Right products for hair managing

Posted on at

We all want frizz and tangle free hair. After getting so many requests about haircare, I finallyyy decided to make a blog post about it.
Note: These products work for me but it doesn't necessarily mean that they will work for you too. I have thick to normal wavy hair, which have been rebounded.
So here's what I use on my hair.

L-R: Palmer's Cocoa butter Formula Shampoo and Conditioner, Palmer's Cocoa Hair oil

-Palmer's Cocoa Butter Shampoo:

This is by far my favorite Sulfate and Paraben free shampoo. It lathers up beautifully, much better than other SLS-free shampoos. May I also mention; the smell is absolutely divine. It smells like mint chocolate! But don't taste it, trust me... don't... ever... ok.
This cleans your hair really well without drying them out, but it doesn't really provide any "moisture" to your hair. This leaves your hair smelling like... you guessed it, mint chocolate. DELICIOUS. (Please refrain from eating your hair, K)
You can get this from Alfatah for 435 PKR for 500 ml.

-Palmer's Cocoa Butter Conditioner:

LET ME START BY SAYING THIS SMELLS AMAZING OH MY GOD!! Now that we have gotten the formalities out of the way. This is themost amazing conditioner ever. You can already look from the picture that I have squeezed the heck out of the packaging. What? You couldn't tell? Well.... crap.

Its yet again SLS and Paraben free. But there is one tiny problem; it is NOT silicone free. Over the months if you have been reading my Ask (I doubt it thou), you'd know I was strictly against silicones. But after reading up a few articles I've learned to differentiate between bad silicones and good silicones. Read this article and know more about your silicones! Luckily, this conditioner has only one silicone in it. Further more as long as you're not applying it to the roots of your hair, this won't cause any buildup. It leaves the hair as soft as a baby's bottom...oh, wrong metaphor. But you get the point right?

I put it from the mid to the ends of my hair and let it sit for 5 minutes. Wash your body in the mean while maybe.. or sing? Or stare at the mirror, whatever makes you happy bro. Afterwards I rinse my hair with freezing cold water. Yes, it isn't a pleasant feeling. Yes, you feel like you're a part of Titanic, specially in winters, but the cold water locks in the moisture and closes the hair shaft. Then I towel wrap my hair, DON'T RUB YOUR HAIR IN THE TOWEL PLEASE! It's very damaging. Just wrap your hair in a towel like this for 5 to 10 minutes. Viola!

You can get this conditioner from Al-fatah for 435 PKR.

-Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Hair Oil:

I must say that it is so versatile. You can use it on your skin, your hair, your body. Its very moisturizing but at the same time it isn't oily. To prevent my hair for tangling after shower, I put good 3-4 drops of JO in my palm and rub it in the mid-to-ends of my hair. What this does is that
A) it locks in the conditioner even further
B) it detangles and moisturizes your hair.

Tip: After straightening your hair, you can set your hairstyle by mixing a pea sized amount of Body Gift's Aloe Gel (Available at Al-fatah) with one drop of Jojoba Oil and rubbing it through your hair. This will make your hair look healthier/shinier and the style will stay longer. You're welcome!

Well, there you have it. My routine. As I've said before, this works for me but it doesn't mean it will work for you too (So please don't hate mail ok *sad face*)

What's YOUR hair routine?
