It is reported that a 22-year-old man who was part of a team that was setting up a stationary robot at one of Volkswagen’s production plants in Germany was grabbed by the robot and crushed against a metal plate which took his life. The tragic incident happened on Monday at the plant in Baunatal which is about 100km north of Frankfurt. Another worker was also present when the incident occurred, but he was not harmed initial conclusions indicate that human error was to blame, rather than a problem with the robot However an investigation is under way to find whether human error was to blame for the death It learnt from German news agency DPA that prosecutors were considering whether to bring charges, but they are not sure if they do so, against whom they would do it.
