Silent Killer Linked to Other Health Conditions

Posted on at

Hypertension - commonly referred to as high blood pressure – is also known as the “silent killer” Hypertension is a serious health condition. It is also responsible for a number of other related medical problems, including one called hypertensive retinopathy. Hypertensive retinopathy is an eye condition. For some people who suffer from this problem, it can become so serious that it jeopardizes their eyesight.

I learned about this condition when my sister was diagnosed with it. Both my sister and my mother suffer from the silent killer, but only my sister has the hypertensive retinopathy. The condition is a direct result of the hypertension, which causes damage to the retina. High blood pressure is one medical condition that can do a world of damage to your body.

The expression, ”silent killer” is a very fitting one for this terrible threat to your health. That is why it pays to take steps to safeguard your health. If you happen to suffer from hypertension, be sure to take your medication as prescribed. Also, maintain the type of diet that will help you keep your blood pressure under control.
