Sand Cat....

The sand cat is also called Dune cat in Pakistan. This is found in true deserts that's why it is called sand cat.

since 2002 sand cat is listed as near Threatened by IUCN due to concern over potential low population size and decline.

These cats have thickly fur feet and they are well adopted according to the extreme weather of desert.

The sand cat is a small, stocky cat having short legs with relatively long tail.It's fur is sandy color. Its head and body ranges from 39 to 52cm and its weight is from 1.35 to 3.5 k.g.

Sand cats are highly sensitive to repiratory diseases and infection of upper repiratory tract.

Asian Black Bear.....

Asian black bears are found in many countries of Asia. They have crescent moon symbol on their chest that's why they are also called "moon bear."In Pakistan these bears are mostly found in Himallayan forests and in Baluchistan in south west of Pakistan.

Their babies are born completely blind and they completely depend on their mother.They remain with their mother for 2 to 3 years.

They are indangered because they live in forests and these forests are being cut down continuously for different purposes.

The Asian Black Bear mainly eats nuts and fruits. It some times eats animals and and insects as well.

Their height is between 50 to 120cm and weight is about 50 to 120kg of male and 40 to 50 kg of female.

These bears are killed for its gall bladder because its gall bladder is used in medicine.

Snow Leopard....

The snow leopard is a large cat ,native to the mountains in central and southern Asia.

Snow leopards are slightly small than the other big cats but like them , exhibit a rand of sizes. It generally weighted from 27 to 55 kgs.

They have relatively short body , measuring from head to tail from 75 to 130 cm.However tail is quite long from 80 to 100 cm.

The snow leopard has  long thick fur. Their skin color varies from smokey gray to yellowish tan, with whitish underparts.

The snow leopard show several adaptation for living in cold, mountainous environment.Their thick fur help then to keep hot in very cold weather.

The snow leopard can not roar like other big cats. This is because of having partial ossification of the hyoid bone.

These cats are cornivores and actively hunt their prey. Like many cats, They are also opportunistic feeders, eating what ever meat they find,. They can kill animals more than three times their own weight.

In Pakistan The snow leopard  are found in Karakoram, Hindukush, Baltistan and Chitral.
