Status of Women In Pakistan

Posted on at

Pakistan lies middle of the South Asia, it’s geographical position is very strong. But when we see the status of male and female in Pakistan. There are a lot of differences between them and the status or position is low.

There are a lot of factors which effects the female status such as our culture, norms, values, traditions etc. And this all is because of Patriarchy mean the male dominated society. Pakistan is an Islamic country and Islam give the equal rights both the male and female. But our Patriarchal society does not allow the women to enjoy the equal status as men. The 72% woman of Pakistan works in agricultural field without any profit.

Our Patriarchal society does not allow the women to get education. Only 1% girls reach the master level. The un-Islamic cultural practices also effect the status of women such as marriage with Quran.

This un-Islamic practice lies in the Sindh where this un-Islamic practice is done just because her father or brother do not want to give the share in property.

Watt-Satta is also a cultural practice in Pakistan which also describe the low status of women in Pakistan.

So, if we can not over come this stereotypical roles, un-Islamic practices then women’s of Pakistan can not enjoy the equal status.
