STORY TIME: New Job, New Friends :)

It has been 5 days now since the first time I started in the new job where I am now. I admit, I miss the old friends I have in my old job. I miss the laughter, I miss the craziness, I miss the team buildings, I miss going out on lunchbreaks with them together, I miss everything with them. I miss how we share stories and laugh at the jokes they share. But, since I have a new job now, I need to let go of the old friends I have, too. (I mean letting go like, not being with them at work everyday anymore.) But despite that, we are still friends. :) We would even still go out to eat out sometimes and they are still asking me to go with them during their team buildings even if I am not a part of their team anymore. :) We may not be workmates anymore but, the friendship we have remains in our hearts. :)

Well, anyways, I am starting to be saying cheesy stuff there already. But yeah, that’s true. In the new job that I have now, the people are very nice too. :) They are so friendly. :) In fact, since the first day of our training, I already gained 5 friends. :) We always go together during breaks and we also sit beside each other. :D The rest of my workmates are also nice. They also share their learning and insights and we act as a team. If one is having a hard time learning, the rest will extend their hands and heads to help out. :) That is just so nice. :) I always dream of having team mates like that – that instead of pushing you down, they will be there to lend you their hands so you will be able to stand up and cope up.

>> THE ACCOUNT <<

I also like the account that I am working with now in the new job because it is just quite easy compared to the job I had before. I have been with AT&T before under billing and sales but, that account is a very difficult one. Well, not really difficult. Let me rephrase that. Well, let me say, it puts a lot of pressure on you because of the very high metrics. And most of the customers are calling in very mad because of their bills.

In the new job, I am working with 1-800 Flowers.com. I love this account though it is still under a sales account, but, it is just easy because we will just be selling flowers and most of the time, people who calls in already have a plan in mind to get flowers so, it won’t be that hard. The only thing you need to do is to proactively offer the perfect arrangement where you think is suitable for the occasion that the customer is calling in about.

Here's a short view about the history of 1-800 Flowers.com

The doorbell rings. From outside,
a friendly voice says,
"Delivery from 1-800-Flowers.com!"

There's a sudden feeling of excitement and anticipation. And then you
see it-a beautiful arrangement of fresh, colorful flowers. You're surprised.
You're delighted. And most important of all, you're smiling!

Making people smile is no small accomplishment. It's a passion that's been in our family for 40 years. It's what drove Jim McCann to open his first flower shop in 1976, with the belief that each of us has a special power inside to connect with the important people in our lives. What starts as a single thought can end with someone feeling loved, appreciated, remembered—and having a better day because of it. It's not just in our business plan; it's actually how we see the world.

And it's this core belief which has continued to grow with us as a company over the last four decades, forever changing the way people send flowers & gifts. From milestone occasions, like birthdays and anniversaries, to life's just because moments, we've been your trusted source for the finest selection of floral arrangements, blooming plants, one-of-a-kind keepsakes and delicious gourmet food—all designed to help you express yourself perfectly to those who mean the most.

I also love their tag lines. Like,

“We deliver smiles”

It sounds so inspiring and it sounds so fulfilling to deliver smiles to other people. A smile to the customer who bought the flower arrangements and also, a smile to the person who will receive the flowers.  We will not only process flowers but, we will also be guaranteeing the customers for 100% Smile Guarantee :) That sounds pretty nice and challenging at the same time. :)

“Build relationship first before business”

I also like this tag line that they have. And, I really agree to this one. You still need to build relationship to the customers first because that is one way they can build their trust to you and when they start to feel comfortable around you, they will be more likely to buy more items from you and, that is very good for your metrics. We just need to build rapport to the customers all the time and talk to them as if they are our friends :)

The trainers are also very good in the new job where I am at now. They are very approachable that every time we ask questions, they really respond very well. (not to mention that they also just started with the account last August of this year) They tend to be patient with us but not lenient. They are patient in a sense that, they don’t get pissed off or annoyed whenever we ask questions. They let us feel that in the training class, it is okay to make mistakes. They also coach us every after mocks calls that we are having to also help us to evaluate ourselves.

I am actually loving the job that I am in right now. :) I hope this will be my last BPO company already. :)
