Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan. It is new planned city located at the base of Margalla Hills. It became our capital in 1959.

More than 500,000 people live in Islamabad.

Islamabad is a well-planned city in very pleasant surroundings. As it is the capital of the country, all the foreign embassies are located here and their diplomatic staff also lives here.

It is very beautiful city in all aspects.

Streets and avenues are lined with flowering, shade-giving trees and there are 

 many beautiful parks and gardens.

Shah Faisal Mosque , one of the largest mosque in the world, is a fine ,gleaming, white building that adds great beauty to  the city.

Up in the Margalls Hills is a terraced garden, the Daman-i-Koh, from where the city can be seen.

Islamabad also has a Rose and Jasmine Garden and Rawal Lake.

There is also shrine of Bari Imam.
