The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby is due in April, Kensington Palace announced today.

The confirmation came as the palace confirmed that the duchess would be making her first public appearance in 11 weeks tomorrow, even though she is still suffering from acute morning sickness.

The duchess, who is expecting one baby rather than the twins which were the subject of speculation in betting circles, is said by the palace to be “steadily improving.”
