The farmer spent the night in the barn. Earlier in the day, he realized his pony wasn't feeling well. She moped around all day instead of frolicking in the meadow. The farmer was deeply concerned.

That morning he called the veterinarian and asked if she could come out and check on the pony. An hour later the vet arrived and walked into the barn.

She checked the eyes of the pony. She listened to the lungs and heart. She took the pony's temperature. After the examination, the vet and farmer walked out of the barn.

"So Doctor, you noticed the pony coughing. Does she have a cold?' asked the farmer. 'No," replied the vet. "She is just a little hoarse."
