What I did (Production) Part 2- A crewing Blog

Posted on at

So Day one of Cake break was done and day 2, the day of the first shoot, began.

This was a busy day. as a runner I had all sorts of responsibility's, first tape cables to the floor, then help move some lights around, then move some set into place, Set up the track for track and dolly shots and so forth, it was mostly dogs body work and for a lot of the time I was kept busy. sometimes I would have times of inactivity.

Day 2 was also the day of the "Oven Collection", Basically Cake break is a Dark Parody of 1990's cookery shows and as such it needed an oven. Dan, The director had one, but at home, so me and another member of my year who was also helping out on the film, and Dan had to go and get the oven, this required an car journey and even more heavy lifting. But that is what I did that day.

I did all my jobs and one of them was catching a cake as it flew out of the oven pulled by a fishing line. it was an unusual but fun day one to the shoot and day 3 cannot come fast enough.

That was part 2, come back for part 3, Thanks For Reading and See You Soon.

Below is a still from the production of Cake Break.
