Chapter #4.2

A Long Walk

Question # 3

Why did his father say that he was angry with himself?

Answer:

Jason's father was not angry with him but himself . Unlike ordinary father he behaved sensibly. He considered himself responsible fir Jason's lie. In his eyes, the fault was for parents should try to enable their children to differentiate between right and wrong. Moreover they should teach them to speak the truth. No doubt he did this but Jason's insolent lies hurt him a lot. That's why he thought of punishing himself by walking 18 miles to home. Besides it was a great lesson for Jason, too.
