In a new study it is found that, why our brain go for junk food like pizza over salad or healthy meals. According to the scientists of the McGill University Health Centre and the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital of McGill University, selecting what a person eats was not only the matter of taste.

When a person go through a menu their brain takes decision on the calorie content of the food. And this decision about food caloric density and consumption are related to a part of brain called the ventromedial prefrontal cortex which is the area that encodes the value of stimuli and gives their consumption. And thus our brain makes us to go junk food over healthy meals.
