ALCATRAZ EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
Here is something you may not know: Alcatraz is an actual prison. It is an island a short boat ride across the San Francisco bay. Some of the worst criminals in American history were locked up here.
So with that in mind, the TV show ALCATRAZ uses the real prison – which officially closed in 1963 – as the location.
The show's premise is that both the prisoners and the guards disappeared in 1963 and have abruptly reappeared in modern-day San Francisco, where they are being tracked down by a government agency.
Hollywood correspondent Cheng Yangyang sat down with Jonny Coyne, one of the leads in the series.
