From Manhattan to Montauk: An Interview with Izzy Paskowitz of Surfers Healing

Uploaded on Thursday 19 September 2013

DESCRIPTION

Izzy Paskowitz and his wife Danielle are the founders of Surfers Healing, a foundation devoted to expanding the horizons of children with autism through surfing.

Isaiah Paskowitz was diagnosed with autism at age three, and he suffered from sensory overload. The ocean was the one place where he seemed to find respite.

A former professional surfer, Israel hit upon an idea. With Isaiah on the front of his surfboard, and Izzy steering from the back, the two spent days surfing together.

Izzy Paskowitz is also the author with Daniel Paisner of "Scratching the Horizon: A Surfing Life". The book details his unique childhood growing up surfing with "Doc Paskowitz" and his siblings.
