DESCRIPTION

In Romani language, "loli kali shuba" means a red and black coat, but it’s also the nickname given by the Romani children of Trans-Carpathia to ladybirds, and the refrain of some kind of nursery rhyme. A song, recorded by chance twenty years ago, becomes a mystery to be solved by going back to the same location twenty years later. This film is an act of love towards marginal lives and the poetry of simple things such as the capacity of being surprised by a ladybird flying.


In romanì "loli kali shuba" è un cappotto rosso e nero, ma anche il modo con cui i bambini rom della Transcarpazia chiamano le coccinelle attraverso il ritornello di una filastrocca. Una canzone, registrata per caso tanto tempo fa in un vecchio film racchiude un piccolo mistero, affrontato tornando, dopo vent’anni, in quegli stessi luoghi. Questo film è un atto d’amore nei confronti delle esistenze ai margini e della poesia delle cose semplici come la capacità di stupirsi per il volo di una coccinella.
