DESCRIPTION

I love “Fruitvale Station.” The Sundance and Cannes Film Festival darling deserves all the accolades in the world. The film tells the true-life story of Oscar Grant, a 22-year old Oakland, California resident who was fatally shot by BART police officers in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day 2009.

We will be seeing more of “Fruitvale Station” once the Oscar season is upon us! Mark my words! Writer/director Ryan Coogler created a thought-provoking, deeply emotional movie with a strong performance by Michael B. Jordan as its centerpiece.

I was fortunate enough to interview Jordan live via satellite and we talked about:

*** How “Fruitvale Station” came about? Did Coogler write the script with Jordan in mind? And how did he come across the unbelievable story of Grant?
*** Did they know that they were making a very special movie that would win the top prize at Sundance?
*** Jordan’s great choices in acting – from NBC’s “Friday Night Lights,” to “Chronicle” and “Red Tails.” What about the rumor that he was going to star as Johnny Storm in the upcoming “Fantastic Four” reboot?
*** What about the talk of the week – the “Rocky” spinoff known as “Creed” where Jordan will team up with Coogler once again to play Apollo Creed’s grandson?

Jordan is a very down-to-earth actor who deserves all the recognition he’s getting for “Fruitvale Station.” And yes, we’ll see him at the Oscars!
