DESCRIPTION

The recent protests in Iran awaken the filmmaker’s memories to a time when as a young activist she fled after the 1979 revolution, she begins a quest to find her surviving friends. Haunted by the guilt of abandoning her imprisoned friends and her brother, Rostam, who was later executed, she finally finds them and learns about their horrific torture and about Rostam’s final days.


Le recenti proteste in Iran risvegliano i ricordi della regista, di quando da giovane attivista fuggì dal paese dopo la rivoluzione del 1979, delusa dalla deriva autoritaria che aveva fatto svanire i sogni di democrazia, all’indomani della caduta dello scià. Il film è la ricerca delle sue compagne di lotta e del fratello Rostam, che fu poi giustiziato dal regime. Finalmente le ritrova e scopre la verità sulle terribili torture che hanno subito e sugli ultimi giorni di vita di Rostam.
