From big-blockbusters to smaller independent films, 2014 was a good year for movie buffs like you and I! I compiled my Top 10 Best Movies of 2014, did your favorite make my list? Take a look at my Top 10 Best Movies of 2014 (scroll below for my runners-up and THE worst!)

1. BOYHOOD
2. BIRDMAN
3. SELMA
4. WHIPLASH
5. THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL
6. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
7. THE IMITATION GAME
8. THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING
9. NIGHTCRAWLER
10. FOXCATCHER

RUNNERS-UP:

THE BABADOOK, THE LEGO MOVIE, AMERICAN SNIPER, THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, BIG HERO 6, TOP FIVE, GONE GIRL, ST. VINCENT, JOHN WICK, CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, FORCE MAJEUR,CITIZENFOUR, MR. TURNER, IDA,DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, THE GOOD LIE, THE SKELTON TWINS

THE WORST:

1. TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION – I hated this last summer, and I still hate it now! I tried watching this on the plane from LA to the Philippines, and if I didn’t want to waste 2+ hours of my time, I would not even take a peek again at this super-bloated, lifeless movie! Let’s all ask Michael Bay to take a break for a while and quit dragging Mark Wahlberg to his pantheon of bad films!

My other hated films:

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES (‘nuff said), A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST (why Seth MacFarlane why? I still love “Ted” but geez!), and the inescapable LEFT BEHIND – Dear Nicolas Cage, “Joe” and “The Frozen Ground” almost made me want to believe in you again, and then this! I’d rather be left behind!
