“Like early Art Brut wrestling with a pub outing of psychiatrists” - Steve Lamacq..... "Not a second is wasted on this crucial, inventive unit. Think Art Brutish vox over Awful Sparksish quirkiness." Artrocker "More genius from our single-licious buddies at Org" - Subba -Cultcha.... "Somewhere lurking beneath that feisty bassline is the kind of talent that screams out that great things lie ahead." - RoomThirteen.com.... "Part Wire and part very early XTC mixed with modern underground rock manouveres – exciting stuff." - Manchester Music.... "Very Manchester post punk sounding. Could have been on Factory in the eighties." indie-mp3.co.uk "This is what Pavement would sound like if they came from Cobridge." thirteenthworst.blogspot.com

About herzoga

Herzoga was birthed in early 2007. Sooner rather than later their debut single “Things to Say” was released on Org records, which led to airplay from Steve Lamacq on Radio 1 and Radio 6, Huw Stephens and John Kennedy on XFM.

Not content to rest on their entirely metaphorical laurels, the men of Herzoga decided to go and play some gigs, including topping the bill for Silver Rocket at Highbury Buffalo bar as well as supporting acts such as Maps, Prinzhorn Dance School, Glasvegas, Hot Hot Heat and The Young Knives.

Herzoga’s second single, the double A-side of “Nice Car” and “Blood School” gained airplay on Radio 1 and XFM, including John Hilcock making “Nice Car” his favourite track for a bit.

In March 2008, a panel of wise people at Radio 1 decided that the band should be one of a handful of up and coming acts to record a live session at Maida Vale for the station’s annual “Introducing” feature. In August the band went on a national tour with co-headliners Who Owns Death TV. In March 2009 the boys were invited back to Maida Vale for another Radio 1 session, taking their wrongpop noise action to the masses once again.
