DESCRIPTION

As most people know, about 70 percent of the Earth’s surface is covered in water. All said and done, there’s about 1.3 billion cubic kilometers (332.5 million cubic miles) of water on the planet, and the seas and rivers and oceans that hold all that water are still some of the most poorly understood regions on Earth—and so are the creatures that live in themOn Earth, an ocean is one of the major conventional divisions of the World Ocean, which covers almost 71% of its surface. These are, in descending order by area, the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern, and Arctic Oceans..The word sea is often used interchangeably with "ocean" in American English but, strictly speaking, a sea is a body of saline water (generally a division of the world ocean) partly or fully enclosed by land. The Earth's oceans are full of funny, regal and fantastic organisms and geographic features.
