DESCRIPTION

Sid Estreicher is an apparel industry research and development professional with 40 years of experience. He graduated with honors with a BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and won the Fabric Design award for outstanding achievement. Upon graduation, he joined Forum Sportswear as a knitwear designer and created the Skinny Rib, which helped Forum to become a major young man’s fashion company. Following his experience at Forum, he co-designed knitwear for Faded Glory and was one of the pioneers who developed production of fashion sweaters and t-shirts in Asia in the 1970’s. Sid designed sweaters and fully-fashioned shirts at Puritan Sportswear and rose to become the Creative Director of Knitwear. He then joined John Kiss and Sons Textile Mills and built a sample department, consisting of computerized flat knitting machines to avoid using production machines to make samples. The designs produced in this sample department accounted for over 70% of production orders. This was the only domestic sweater source for Liz Claiborne, Inc. in the 1980’s. He started working at Liz Claiborne, Inc. in 1989 as Director of Sourcing and eventually became Director of Research and Development. He focused on fabrics and yarns, but also set up and managed a global digital color management structure that reduced color development lead times by well over 50%. In 2006, he joined Pantone LLC, the well known global color authority, as Director of Business Development. He developed the strategy and infrastructure to directly service the large retailers and brands in the US and Europe, as well as their suppliers in Asia. Sid joined Breezeware Technologies in 2012, focusing on Colorspace cloud based solutions and services which bridge the gap between trend/design and production, between the emotional aspects of color and color science
