DESCRIPTION

Smoked is a charcoal animated film done in the technique of South African animator William Kentridge. The project was done during my BFA at Concordia University. The aim was to create a story to capture a "slice of life". The rough animatic was scanned and created from sketches from my sketchbook. I storyboarded and timed the animatic in advance, because the actual charcoal technique under the camera was a straight-ahead animation process, and the more advanced planning the better it would turn out.
