DESCRIPTION

Cyrus Painer, a once rising star in the police force, is now a jaded private eye grappling with the horrible reality of a case in which he must follow and protect a woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to his late wife Sarah, who was murdered by a bullet meant for him. This haunting coincidence is further complicated when Cyrus discovers a fleeting, shadowy apparition of a man - who seems to be tailing him.
The overwhelming guilt Cyrus feels catapults him from teetering precariously on the edge to a downward spiral of despair and delirium. Cyrus becomes unable to decipher Sarah from the woman he is paid to follow...yet he is compelled to somehow protect both. He masks his inner turmoil, attempting to maintain a cool and gritty exterior while finishing a case that is no longer what it seems. The white eyes of his shadowy pursuer dog him at every turn, continually disappearing into the hazy waft of cigarette smoke, shady contacts and unreliable sources Cyrus must rely on. His only chance left is to make peace with his wife's death, no matter the cost.
