DESCRIPTION

Hello everyone! Welcome to my 19th Watch Me WIP series! On this video, I am drawing a very popular anime character, Luffy.

Luffy or Monkey D. Luffy is the protagonist in the manga(comics) One Piece by Eiichiro Oda. One Piece is about a pirate captain named Luffy sailing in the vast oceans of Grand Line with his crew. His goal is to become the Pirate King, which is not far from reality because of the powerful strength he got after eating a gomu gomu devil fruit. One Piece is the best-selling manga(comics) series of all time.

I am currently watching the anime and I still have 425 out of 800 episodes left to watch. Hehe! It's no surprise that I have a One Piece character drawn for my Watch Me WIP as I am caught in the One Piece universe right now. I chose to draw Luffy because he is a fun character. The way he speak and act is funny.

This is my third semi-realistic drawing and still trying to learn how to draw with this style. Combining the shadows and highlights to get a three-dimensional effect seems a bit challenging for me. I wish to get better with this style someday.

Drawing software used is Clip Studio Paint PRO. Tools used are: G Pen(outline), Marker Pen(filling colors), a brush(shadow & highlight).

To get a 3D effect on the drawing I used the color mixing tool to blend the dark and light colors. To soften the lines on the hat, I used the blur tool. For the hair, I used varying colors and thickness of the brush, and used the color mixing tool to blend the end lines of the hair strands.

I guess that's all I need to say. Anyone watching One Piece here? I might draw another character from this show someday.
