Zooming In Endlessly

Uploaded on Monday 9 January 2017

Fractal geometry is about images in the complex plain. Fractal objects have the same shape, whether seen from close or far. This video is about such fractal patterns and we zoom in by a factor of more than 1,000,000. Just imagine having such a zoom-lens on your camera. Eleven long minutes, we keep zooming in, without a cut in the movie. Eleven minutes, we keep falling deeper and deeper into the fractal world.
I used the XaoS fractal software for zooming in. I recorded the whole zoom-scene directly from the screen. Therefore, you can see the mouse. For zooming in, I had to press the left button of the mouse. Moving the mouse around caused the image to move right and left as well as up and down. The whole movie was recorded in a live session.
