50 years ago today, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated by a sniper while visiting Dallas, Texas. JFK is still remembered today as one of the best-loved US Presidents whose sudden and tragic death marked the lives of many, in America and throughout the world.

The 50th anniversary is being extensively covered by the media today with an historic broadcast coverage on CBSNews.com, a “Twitter takeover” by the History channel, and several events happening in Dallas as well.
