Analogies: Seeing things beyond the image.

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles is to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable"--Joseph Addison

Do you see things in life differently?

Just as simple object can become an inspiration, a motivation, a change in perspective.

Analogy.

I have written a lot of it in two writing sites before. It is like more of my way of seeing things in a positive way instead of getting frustrated. Life can be tough, full of hurdles but there are always a good thing that happens after. The sweetest fruit of life from the bitterness of pain. Someone told me that I should write more of those kind, a little way of encouraging people who read them.

It is like picturing things in a different way, connecting it to a life's situation. I could say that writing some of it was an influence by famous writers whom I look up to. It is me, picturing something out of the "physical picture" of the simplest thing that I am seeing. My deepest "interpretation", or "analization" that I can think of, in a very POSITIVE WAY. Positive in the sense that it "pictures" love, kindness, and standing tall in life.

But what is analogy?

Analogy came from the Greek word "analogia" that means proportion. It is cognitive process of transferring information or meaning from a particular subject--the analog or source to another--the target. It also plays an important role in problem solving as well as in decision making or argumentation, perception, generalization, memory, creativity, invention, prediction, emotion, explanation, conceptualization and communication. Analogy is also important not only in ordinary language and common sense but also in science, law, philosophy and humanities.

Here are some of my analogies, with photos attached to show how I see things, in a different perspective.

The Sunset

How do you look at the sun as it gets down?

It feels great to see it right?

Here is how I see the sun as it sets.

Giving way.

Yes, the sun gets down to give way to the moon. It is like an act of humbleness, humility. The sun's time is over and definitely know its role, and knows when it has to end. It doesn't show greediness. When its time has to end, it has to end. The moon's turn to show its beauty, for tomorrow, it will come back and show its light again. Can we all be like the sun? Who lives more of not just giving us light but also it shows humility and no greediness?

Just as music is noise that makes sense, painting is a colour that makes sense, so as story is life  that makes sense"--Yann Martel

The Jar

*Image is credited Rain Tajon via www.bilanders.com

When I was looking at the photo at first, all I am seeing is just the jar being made, I was amazed and even wanted to learn how to make one, the when I checked the photo again, something hits me.

WORK IN PROGRESS.

The potter has been good in making those earthen jars. The process is long and can be painstaking. It takes a lot of patience aside from experience to make the best pot or jar. The potter was once like us, that before we become of what we are now, we are once a piece of clay, SHAPELESS. Yes, just a plain clay in the sight of many until we are being formed through time. And just as jar, we have to stand the HEAT of life just to become one tough JAR.

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within"--ElizabethKubler-Ross

Being Different

*Image is credited to Rain Tajon via www.bitlanders.com

Do you go with the flow?

Or do you want to go against it?

Do you feel that being different can be bad?

What do you see in the picture?

Same plant with two different flowers. Yes, we are all the same, God's children. That sometimes, we are questioned why we are being different from one person to another. I always say that there is not goodness in comparing. We might be the same, or one, but we can also be be different in some aspects. It is good to see that somethings are the same, but have we looked if they are not? Look at the Yin-Yang. Two colors that somehow makes us see the BALANCE of the world, of LIFE. There is BEAUTY IN VARIETY. So if you feel that you are different, be proud, as long as you are not harming other people.

Always refuse to be like the others! The more you become similar to the others, the more you will be useless because there are already plenty of the others!"--Mehmet Muran Ildan

The tree of HOPE

*Image is credited to Rain Tajon via www.bitlanders.com

In the eyes of many, this is just a plain tree, but in my eyes, I see more than just a tree.

When I took a photo of this one when me and my family traveled, I knew that another tree will be gone soon base on the looks of it. With my attachment witn the trees, I felt sentimental but as I look thoroughly at the picture, I saw leaves barely hanging in there, I felt hopeful.

The tree of hope.

I knew that the tree will be cut soon due to road widening but before that tree is telling me to be more hopeful. Just like the green leaves on the tip of the branches, we should still be hanging on that thread, that there is nothing wrong with hoping. We don't know what happens next right? But holding unto hope can make us feel better and gives us that confindence that tomorrow will be a better day.

Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the dont's. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossible, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, the listen close to me...Anything can happen, child. Anything can be."--Shel Silverstein

Thank you for reading, hoping I have shown you how I really see things, and the reason why I just take photos randomly, it is not just becuase I am seeing stories but seeing some words of wisdom from them. Looking forward to write more of analogies.

'Til next time!
