I want to share today’s message in our church. It is about how God revealed His powers to let the Israelites delivered from the slavery of the Egyptians. The main purpose why God delivered the Israelites from Egypt is to worship Him, he said it not only once but seven times. But God hardened Pharaoh’s heart so that He may do multiple miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt. As God said, the Pharaoh didn’t listen to Moses and he even offered four alternative proposals to prevent the Israelites from leaving Egypt.

 

1. Worship the Lord but stay in Egypt
2. You can go out of Egypt but not too far
3. They can go far but alone don’t bring their wives, children and flocks
4. They can go far and bring their family but not their flocks and herds (flocks are used for sacrifices and burnt offerings) .

 

But that message has something to do with the present time. The Pharaoh today is similar to Satan, who doesn’t want us to go and worship the Lord. We were created to worship the Lord but we have our own Egypts in our lives. We are free today but we are slaves of this world and its ways. A lot of earthly things hinder us to worship the Lord. This is the alternative proposal that the world offers us.

 

1. Go to church and worship the Lord but stay in your wrong doings
2. You can change but not too much
3. You can change and worship the Lord alone and don’t take your family with you and don’t attend fellowship and bible study.
4. You can take your family but don’t give offerings or tithes

 

Let us pause for a moment and examine ourselves. The world has its own way to attract us and keep us away from God. God wants us to be free and worship Him in spirit and in truth.
