COMPUTER'S HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
INTRODUCTION:
Computer is an electronic machine,it is a complete functional system that exists due to the integration of two basic components that are hardware and software.The presence of both these components is compulsory to run the system successfully.
HARDWARE:
Hardware is the set of physical components of computer system,and are actually working during the processing of data..These components can be touched ,seen and handled from place to place.
SOFTWARE:
Software is the non physical component of the computer system that is the one, which can't be touched, seen and handled directly. It is actually the set of instructions that directs the hardware to do a job. It bring life to the hardware, in other words we may say that hardwares and softwares are interdependent on each other.
MAIN CATEGORIES OF HARDWARE:
Hardware has the following main categories.
- Main memory (RAM and ROM).
- Secondary memory (Floppy disk, hard disk, compact disk(CD), USB etc).
-Central processing unit (CPU).
-Buses, ports, cables, connectors etc.
-Input and output devices like keyboard, mouse, scanner, printer, speaker, digital camera, microphone etc.
-Networking hardware such as modem, bridge, router, hub, cables etc.
MAIN CATEGORIES OF SOFTWARE:
Software has the following two main categories.
-System software
-Application software.
