230 people died of heat near 50 degrees C in India

In recent weeks, a record heat near 50 ° C in the southern states of India which left about 230 people dead.




Indian officials said that since mid-April so far, about 230 people died due to sharply rising temperatures in many regions of the country.

Indian health officials recommend that people should not be out on the street at midday to avoid sunstroke. Agency forecasters said central heat will persist in India for at least 1 week away  during the rainy season would be delayed due to El Nino.
