The term forest submerged / sink generally describe the remains of trees that had been flooded by rising sea levels. Forests such as these can also be found further inland in the lake.
Then do they live? Of course not, they slowly decompose in water. Here are some of the unique forest.
1. Lake Kaindy, Kazakhstan
The lake is located in the deep forest with a height of 2000m above sea level. Formed from avalanches limestone and soil deposition. It forms a natural dam lake and a beautiful canyon.
This lake has a length of 400m long by 30m. Beautiful views presented here. The remains of a tree that is not submerged, looming like nails creations of nature. While parts of the submerged in water, seems a mystery as forests that are hundreds of years.
2. Lake Bezid, Romania
Located in the Transylvania region of Romania, its uniqueness is not only beautiful scenery but also the mystical side presented here. Formed after the entire village Bezid flooded, leaving the houses at the bottom of the lake and the only local church tower and trees are still seen towering over the lake.
Branches and twigs that old seen towering above the water surface as the hands that bring a mystical message. This reservoir is also hiding something under the water, ie debris submerged villages so that adds to the wonderful atmosphere and mystery also presented there.
3. Lake Periyar, India
Periyar Lake is actually an artificial reservoir, to a flood area which was created in 1895 by the construction of Mullaperiyar Dam. The tree stumps are the remains of the forest that once.
Around the lake contours of the wooded hills provide a permanent water source for local wildlife, and is said to be one of the few places where dams have been good to be made in the ecosystem.
4. Reservoir Udawalawe, Sri Lanka
This reservoir presents a view of the remains of thousands of forest trees that die from water that fills the submerged artificial dam. Lots of animals are losing their habitat here, but lately, the reservoir began to re-visited by various groups and the types of animals that exists around this reservoir.

5. Lake Volta, Ghana
Lake formed by hydroelectric Akosomba Dam, which provides power supply to many countries. Completed in 1965, this project forced about 78,000 people to relocate the new settlements, along with 200,000 of their pets, while around 120 buildings and dwellings countless also destroyed.
Lake Volta is a promising resource potential, the government of Ghana seeks to harvest 14 million cubic meters of timber were submerged, although not without controversy. 6. Caddo Lake, Texas

Native conifers southeastern United States, Cypress trees thrive in moist habitats, and some individuals can live for more than 1,000 years.
Baldcypresses, growing in marshy habitats, have typical growth called cypress knees, woody projections on the water which is part of the root system and provide structural support and stabilization - in flood-prone sites like this.
7. Kampong Pluk, Cambodia
In Cambodia can be found floating another forest, consisting of trees that grew out of a lake, kust their roots hidden under the water.
Trees that grow in Kampong Pluk are mangroves and other forest habitats. They are home to a variety of wildlife, including crab-eating monkeys, and humans who harvest shrimp and live in a tree house / floating homes.
