A flower is said to be a signature of god. There are different flowers that can be found in every corner of this world. Flowers are considered as best way for expressing emotions and feelings. There is a flower for every purpose and occasion. Flowers are used in weddings, as they are considered very auspicious for this special occasion. A Rose is considered as symbol of love. With help of flowers, messages can be delivered in a most romantic manner.  During Christmas season, one particular flower is used and considered best and very promising. This is the Amaryllis Flower. Amaryllis comes from family of lilies. It is also termed as “Nude Woman”. Two species of amaryllis can be found.

This flower can mostly be found in “South Africa” and “America”. This flower has a unique feature that it can bloom inside homes of people without any direct contact of sunlight. It is also known as “Lily Belladonna”. These flowers grow at a more rapid pace than lilies. These flowers can grow up to “61” cm in height and up to “5” cm in diameter. There are total 5-7 flowers that bloom together in a bunch. Leaves of this flower are flat and plane. As this flower is grown only in Africa and America, various greenhouses grow this flower with help of technology.

Out of all flowers, Amaryllis Flower is most favorite flower during Christmas. This is mostly considered as a winter plant. After they are cut from there stems, they sustain for almost “three weeks”. If these stems are given correct treatment then it can even last more than 3 months and even new flower bulbs can be formed. Maintaining these flowers is a costly affair, but it is worth spending on these flowers. Lilies are preferred by people, but during Christmas, they are not available. Therefore, people prefer to have amaryllis instead. If a person is buying amaryllis, then they should always go for those flower bulbs that are tight so that it can take time for blooming and they will exist for a longer duration.
