American Sniper movie review.

Got a chance to see the new movie "American Sniper" today in the theater. It's bee nominated for several Academy Awards this year including Best Picture and Best Actor for Bradley Cooper. I've got to say from what I saw, both awards are definitely in order, and Clint Eastwood was probably snubbed from the Best Director category.

The story chronicles the true tale of Chris Kyle, one of the most legendary snipers in the history of the military to date. He was able to put himself into dangerous situations, leaving his family for months on end, to protect others with his precision skills. The movie takes a look at not just how intense and dangerous it is for him to be in enemy territory, but also how difficult it is for him to leave that behind when he's back home with family.

I won't give away too much of the plot. It's based on a book, so you may have read that, but even if not, check this movie out. It really showcases just what sort of sacrifices the military men and women make to protect us. It's Rated R for some language and gruesome violence in several scenes, but it is an amazing overall story and presentation. I'd give this 5 stars.

Have you seen American Sniper yet, and if so what did you think?
