Ben Stiller will direct a period horror film called The Mountain. The project, set up at 20th Century Fox, is based in part on Edith Wharton's 1917 novel "Summer," The Mountain features a young woman (presumably the novel's Charity Royall), who comes across a strange object that forces her to face her dark past. Whether the story is designed as a retelling or a continuation of the novel is currently unclear. Stiller, is also slated to direct and star in the remake of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, also at 20th Century Fox.
