Bidding, winning, and keeping the Turkey in Farm Satoshi

Posted on at

There are special animals in farm satoshi.  The first thing you need to know is that you do not have to go for the special animals.  The special animals are obtained through a special bidding feature which is not necessary to play the regular game.  If you don't like the bidding, you don't have to play this part.

The special animals live for a very short time, but they pay out much faster.  There are the Ostrich and the Indian Peacock ( which is very beautiful, by the way).  The best is the Turkey, which pays out 20,000 Satoshis in eight hours.

Bidding

Bidding is a little weird so it takes time to get used to.  A couple things before you bid.

1)  Make sure you have an empty space in your warehouse, or else the Turkey will die if you win it, because it has no place to live.

2)  Make sure you have 500 Satoshis which you can afford to lose.  In the game, it does not take very long to earn that amount.

3)  Every bid costs 10 Satoshis, and you can bid 50 times.

The bid clock begins at 10 seconds, and counts backwards.  If the clock runs out... and goes to "time over", you win if you were the last bidder.  Of course, other people will bid.  The clock starts over at 10 second every time a player bids.  Sometimes the auction is very short, and someone wins with only a few bids.  Sometimes the game goes on for 15 minutes, and there are a thousand or more bids!

Winning

The best way to win is to play when no-one else happens to be playing.  There actually are a certain number of auctions which are uncontested Turkey worth 20,000 is won for 10 Satoshis.  Good luck with that.  You can sneak up to the game real quiet like figuring nobody else is playing, but once you have bid... your competition comes out of nowhere....

The strategy is to letter other people bid against each other, and run out of bids, leaving you in the wings to swoop in when every one else is done.  So, you want to vote as late as you can, so other people will vote earlier, and you will not have to waste a vote to restart the clock.  The problem is that if you vote to late, the clock might expire, and you won't get your vote in.  The last person to bid will win, but it won't be you.  You sit by the mouse, waiting to click, only to find out that the auction is over.

Sometimes you click with less than a second left, and your vote gets in, but when the clock starts over, a person who clicked after you starts the clock over a second time... and you have had the winning bid for less than a tenth of a second!  Sometimes, five bids come in during the same second.  The game clock is so sensitive that it knows the order in which the bids come in.

Keeping the Turkey

Sooner or later, you will win the special animal.  I played about 15 times, and I won twice.  Since 50 bids cost 500 Satoshis... if you are bidding, and get the idea you cannot win, stop bidding, and spend the money on feed.  Play again when conditions are more favorable.  If you use this kind of common sense, you should be able to make more money from winnings than you pay out in bids.  Only thing is, the special animals increase your cash flow.

Are you going to spend the money to meet the requirements to level up, so you earn Satoshi's at a faster rate.  Or are you going to hoard the Satoshis for the life of the Turkey, and then send your wallet that sweet sweet total of 20,000 Satoshis?

Now, the game lets you use your own wallet, or will distribute directly to a Xapo wallet.  If you sign up for a Xapo wallet, Xapo wallet, they will give you 5000 Satoshis, but you cannot withdraw them until you have verified the wallet to your mobile devise.

The auction is good fun, but it makes me a little nervous, but if you don't play, you can still send some of your winnings to your wallet.
