Pulses are very healthy they are rich in protein, carbohydrates and vitamins. Add pulses in your diet for good health as they are easily available everywhere. So today I decided to choose a pulse recipe that is chana daal which is healthy and delicious. This is made with simple ingredients and few spices; this is for 7-8 people recipe. All ingredients and cooking directions are enlisted below make it at home and enjoy with your family;

INGREDIENTS

  • Chana daal                                                                 1 cup boiled

  • Onion                                                                          2 medium size
  • Tomatoes                                                                    2
  • Green coriander                                                         1 bunch chopped
  • Green chillies                                                              2-3 chopped
  • Turmeric powder                                                        ½ table spoon
  • Ginger garlic paste                                                     1 table spoon
  • All spice powder                                                         1 table spoon
  • Cumin seeds                                                                1 table spoon
  • Cloves                                                                          1-2
  • Cinnamon                                                                   1 stick
  • Red chilli powder                                                       ½ table spoon
  • Salt                                                                                to taste        
  • Oil                                                                                 2-3 table spoons

METHOD

  • Heat oil, add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves, and let them to pop.
  • Add slices of onion fry it till golden brown.
  • When onion is golden brown add tomatoes, ginger garlic paste and fry it for 1-2 minutes.
  • Now add red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and fry till the oil leaves the sides of pan.
  • Now add boiled chana daal and fry for 5-10 minutes.
  • Add 1 cup of water and slow down the flame.
  • Now sprinkle green chillies and green coriander , cover the pan and let it to cook on slow flame for 5-10 minutes.
  • When water is dried and oil comes on the top of daal or leaves the sides of pan turn off the flame.
  • Sprinkle the all spices powder and mix it.
  • Serve with rice or chapatti.
