Cleanse Your Kidneys Naturally in a Week

Your kidneys are organs that are in charge of cleansing the blood of potentially harmful substances through urine and regulating bodily fluids, among other functions. They are vital organs, which is why you should take care of them and keep them balanced.

We will explain how to cleanse your kidneys easily and naturally by doing a weekly cleanse that you can do once or twice a year.

Preliminary Advice

Try not to eat the following food during the week of the kidney cleanse:

  • Milk and dairy products
  • Meat, especially red and cold cuts
  • Seafood
  • White sugar
  • Refined or table salt
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Coffee
  • Tobacco

If you are taking medication, you should see your doctor beforehand because there could be contraindications. It’s best to do a cleanse without taking any kind of medications.

Horsetail and Pineapple Skin Infusion

Make a liter of horsetail and pineapple skin everyday, which you should wash and cut before you cook it. Horsetail has to boil for 10 minutes and sit for another 5, while the pineapple skin will boil for 20 minutes and let sit for approximately another 10 minutes. You can make it separately or at the same time, respecting the cooking time.

Once this infusion is warm, you can sweeten it if you would like with a little bit of stevia.

Drink it throughout the day and stop at mid afternoon (to stop you from having to urinate at night), always outside of meals.

This infusion is rich in minerals like silicon and will help you eliminate excess fluids and stop kidney inflammation.

If you tend to experience urinary tract infections, you can also add papaya to the infusion.

Cleanse Diet

You should be very careful about your food and strict with these guidelines to get the anticipated benefits. You should also try to be a little careful about food before and after the cleanse so that your body doesn’t go through a harsh change.

Breakfast

For breakfast, you should go for a fruit smoothie and a vegetable drink with oatmeal or rice or a few pieces of whole wheat toast with tahini (sesame paste), avocado, egg, or garlic and oil.

Lunch

Start lunch every day with onion soup, which you can make by boiling an onion for every liter of water. You can season it with a little bit of parsley, lemon, and a pinch of sea salt and cayenne pepper.

As a second plate, you can choose one of the following options and change it up everyday:

  • Brown rice and legumes
  • White meat and salad
  • Fish and grilled vegetables
  • Grains (millet, quinoa, oatmeal) with pesto sauce (fresh basil, pine nuts or walnuts, garlic, oil, and a pinch of sea salt, it should all be minced well)
  • Egg and guacamole with rice or corn cakes
  • Whole pasta with mushrooms and peas
  • Tomato, arugula, avocado, cucumber, dried fruits, corn, olives, and a hard boiled egg with whole wheat toast

Dinner

Dinner will consist of a vegetable soup every day (cabbage, zucchini, squash, pumpkin, onion, etc.) that you will boil with a teaspoon of powdered turmeric and a tablespoon of oatmeal flakes.

For dessert, you can eat a baked apple with nuts.

Between Meals

If you are hungry at mid morning or mid afternoon, eat fruit or dried fruits (dates, prunes, apricots).

You Must Drink Water

You need to drink water throughout the day, outside of meals, according to your needs, rhythm of life, time of the year, etc. You shouldn’t abuse water either, but do keep your body well hydrated. If you have an inflamed kidney for example and you aren’t urinating normally, it’s best not to abuse liquids until it gets better.

It is especially important to drink warm water on an empty stomach to get your body functioning.

Heat Up Your Kidneys

Your kidneys are, along with your liver, the only organs that can greatly benefit from direct application of heat because they tend to get cold. Your kidneys are also very related to your energy levels and applying heat to them will improve your well-being and vitality.

You can do it for a half an hour a day by using an electric pad, a water bag, a massage, or by covering the entire area with natural wool. Keep this advice in mind especially when it’s cold out.
