The village is in a humid continental climate zone (Köppen climate classification: Dfa), with cold, snowy winters, hot, humid summers and four distinct seasons.[30] Its plant hardiness zone is 7a.[31] Summer high temperatures average in the lower 80s Fahrenheit (upper 20s Celsius), with lows averaging in the lower 60s F (upper 10s C).[32] Its highest recorded temperature was 100 °F (38 °C) in 1995, and its lowest was −10 °F (−23 °C) in 1979.[33]
